Filter Topologies:

Lumped Element Filters – provides various filter functions in relatively small packages consists of discrete capacitors and inductors soldered to a substrate in various schematic configurations. These filters are commonly used in applications where small size is required and ideal for rugged environment such as airborne military applications and space. Frequency DC to 20 GHz.

Features:

  • 300 kHz to 20 GHz
  • Small size and light weight
  • Versatile topologies and transfer functions
  • Ideal for moderate to very wide bandwidths
  • Connectorized or surface mount, custom packages
  • Easily multiplexed
  • Temperature stable options

Cavity Filters – One of the advantages characterizing cavity filter designs is their low insertion loss and higher power handling ability.

Features:

  • Frequency range 200 MHz to 50 GHz
  • High selectivity Chebyshev and pole-placed
  • Temperature stable options
  • 1 to +60% bandwidth
  • Low profile designs available
  • Drop-in designs to 20 GHz
  • Low intermodulation products

Ceramic Filters best suited for frequencies between 200MHz and 8GHz, using high dielectric resonators. Offer low insertion loss, low cost, and small size.

Features:

  • Frequency range 400 MHz to 6 GHz
  • Bandwidths – 1 to 10%
  • 2 to 6+ sections, custom packages available
  • Good insertion loss relative to size
  • Surface mount
  • Open frame or sealed for hi-rel
  • Gold plating for better solderability and corrosion resistance

Typical applications are GPS, ISM, WLAN, IFF and ManPack

Turbular/ Coaxial Filters – offer broad stopbands and high-power handling capability and are ideal for harmonic rejection.

Features:

  • Frequency range 30 MHz to 10 GHz
  • Moderate Bandwidths (2 to 50%)
  • Chebyshev transfer functions

Suspended Substrate Filters – ideal for use in broadband multiplexers as well as standalone EW filtering applications.

Features:

  • Frequency range 2 to 40 GHz
  • Chebyshev and elliptic response
  • Well suited for high shock and vibration applications
  • Highly repeatable (ideal for matched filters)
  • Broadband receivers
  • Easily integrated with other components

Waveguide Filters – ideal for applications requiring extremely low loss and/or high-power handling.

Features:

  • Frequency range 2 to 50 GHz
  • Bandwidths 0.1 to 10%
  • High power handling diplexers through integral heat dissipation methods

SAW Filters – offer exceptional low loss performance of less than 2dB and fractional bandwidths from 0.04 to 60%

Features:

  • Frequency range 20 to 2600 MHz
  • Insertion loss an low as 1.2 dB
  • Ultra-Flat group delay as low as 8ns part to part
